Today is an in camp day, no driving, a few chores like hand laundry, reading, walking, relaxing. We enjoyed a lazy late morning breakfast of pancakes, bacon and fresh Ontario peaches grown in the micro climate created by the Niagara escarpment. I have mentioned the Niagara Escarpment several times. It was an important geological featureContinue reading “July 26, Lands End, Tobermory”

JULY 24 to Tobermory
Another beautiful morning. Short trip today into Tobermory and our nearby campground. We stopped in at Lions Head for a bit of nostalgia for my husband. Lions Head was named for the lion shaped Head on the escarpment, now fallen into the Bay. The Bruce Trail is Canada’s oldest and longest marked footpath, stretching approximatelyContinue reading “JULY 24 to Tobermory”
July 24, to Cape Croker, Bruce Peninsula
We had company last night for dessert and campfire, our oldest daughter and her husband who live about half an hour from here. As a professional environmentalist, she delighted in watching the bats feeding at sunset. Lovely morning and breakfast outside. I like to report the outside breakfast because on previous trips, outdoor breakfasts wereContinue reading “July 24, to Cape Croker, Bruce Peninsula”
Summer 2025 Ontario, Canada
July 21, 2025 It’s the summer of 2025 and we are still touring in Canada. When we bought our van in 2021, we thought would be fortunate, at our stage of life, to get 3 good years of travel. We are now working on our 5th season. Life is good and we are truly fortunate.Continue reading “Summer 2025 Ontario, Canada”
2025 Mother’s Day
Breaking from tradition, this blog post highlights a park close to home. With beautiful weather and family visiting for the weekend, we spent part of this special day enjoying a walk through one of our favorite local spots, Aquatong Springs Park. I hope you enjoy photos of trees and spring wild flowers. Bird sightings /Continue reading “2025 Mother’s Day”
04.05.2025 New Bern, NC to Kiptopeke State Park
The last 2 days were spent reconnecting with a long-time friend who is now living in New Bern, NC. We spent the entire time talking, about everything! She gave us a tour of her sweet Town where she has been been using her communications skills on projects intended to unite the black / white communities.Continue reading “04.05.2025 New Bern, NC to Kiptopeke State Park”
02.04.2025 back to In the Pines, Bavaria, NC
Not much of interest today. It’s a travel day. Starting our trek back north. Tomorrow we spend two nights in New Bern, NC visiting a friend. Trying to avoid interstates and Myrtle Beach, Google took us on an ‘interesting’ route. We couldn’t avoid driving through Beaufort and Charleston. I have come to realize that GoogleContinue reading “02.04.2025 back to In the Pines, Bavaria, NC”
31.03.2025 and 01.04.2025 Hunting Island State Park
Yesterday and today were meant to be resting days, no travel and nothing but long walks and relaxation. Last night we had a severe thunderstorm, again at dinner time. I also had a 7 pm board meeting via zoom but even with the satellite dish reception was really poor. I am only glad that IContinue reading “31.03.2025 and 01.04.2025 Hunting Island State Park”
30.03.2025 Beaufort, SC
Today we backtracked to Beaufort, SC, a drive of about 2 1/2 hours. We walked around Beaufort for about an hour or so. We have been here many times visiting friends who used to live here. I have also written about it in a previous blog. Beaufort: https://weegtravel.blog/2022/02/21/day-3-yemassee-sc-to-blythe-island-brunswick-ga/ I am just posting a couple ofContinue reading “30.03.2025 Beaufort, SC”
29.03.2025 Santee State Park
We have decided to stay put today rather than packing everything up to go exploring. It is vacation after all. We can find enough to do here for a day. Consequently, we have been very lazy this morning. It makes a huge difference when you can get outside early enough for coffee, followed by aContinue reading “29.03.2025 Santee State Park”
