The ferry was indeed delayed last night by 2 hours, leaving at 2 a.m. instead of midnight. We spent about 6 hours in line prior to boarding. We were quite comfortable. We stretched out on the 2 banquettes. I had downloaded a couple of movies on my phone that I connected to our television siteContinue reading “Day 42: Port aux Basques Nfld, North Syndey, NS to Amherst, NS”

Day 20: Mira PP to Marine Ferry
Woke up to full sunshine this morning, a delightful treat after the last two days. We have to be at the ferry terminal 2 hours prior to sailing. BreakfastContinue reading “Day 20: Mira PP to Marine Ferry”
Day 19: Glace Bay and Louisburg
It poured rain most of the night. There was a small lake between us and the campsite next door when we got up. We are in this campsite for 2 nights. Dat 18: Broad Cove, Cape Breton Highlands, NP to Mira Provincial Park, NS
As predicted, we had a lot of rain last night. It had stopped by the time we got up and we could pack up without getting wet. We finish the Cabot Trail today. It’s warm but cloudy/misty. Day 17: Baddeck, NS to Broad Cove Campground, Cape Breton Higlands National Park
Today we started touring the Cabot Trail ending with camping in Cape Breton Highlands National Park tonight. We’ll finish the rest of it tomorrow. Day 16: Linwood Harbour to Baddeck, NS
Another gorgeous morning. The weather is just perfect. A few gnats about while we were having breakfast outside so the Thermocell is in play. I need to take the freezer apart and takeContinue reading “Day 16: Linwood Harbour to Baddeck, NS”
Day 15: Caribou, NS to Linwood Harbour, NS
After exiting the ferry, we stopped in Pictou to refresh our provisions then headed to Antigonish, NS for lunch. At one point in our lives, we could have spent a lot of time here. Sun was shining in all its glory after having a day off yesterday. It’s father’s day. NS Halifax is the capital city of the Canadian province of Nova Scotia.Continue reading “Day 10, Halifax to Laurie Provincial Park”
Day 9: Lunenburg to Halifax
It’s raining and we are in no hurry to get out of bed. We don’t have a long drive today and we have seen what there is to see in Lunenburg. A little shopping was needed before leaving Lunenburg. Given the weather, we decided to stop at Peggy’s Cove on the way. We’ve been hereContinue reading “Day 9: Lunenburg to Halifax”
