Another day in camp without driving anywhere. These days are giving us time for a more normal daily routine. For me, that’s coffee first followed by breakfast whenever I want it rather than coffee and breakfast at the same time.

Today, we are taking it as clean-up day. We have been out for 6 days. Time to take stock of things, air out the bedding, do laundry, clean the van thoroughly, and maybe do some baking. We were able to leave the chairs, my stool for the back door, and the toaster oven outside last night instead of putting everything away at night as we usually do. With nice long walks in between, get caught up on email as well. It’s a more relaxing day. It’s still cool, but the sun is shining.

Not sure if these are azaleas or the Azalea-rhododendron hybrid. They are very large.
Just to show where this gator was sunning itself in relation to the picnic tables. It’s no wonder swimming isn’t allowed in the ponds in this park.

We had two very long walks, one in the morning and another in the late afternoon. The afternoon walk took us out around the salt marsh where we watched wood storks coming back into the park to roost. We spotted about 20 of them but not close enough to photograph.

Lovely example of a Live Oak
Salt marsh where we saw the wood storks flying in for the night.

Dinner was what we are now calling ‘heat and eat’: prepared chicken strips with orange sauce, mashed potatoes and peas with brownies for dessert.

Short walk after dinner cleanup finished off a lovely, relaxing day that also including reading and drawing.
