Lagos, Portugal Day 3

Started this beautiful day with a few laps of the pool before everyone else (except Brian) got up followed by a brisk 20 minute walk. This is a chore morning. We left home a week ago and I needed to do laundry.

The kids (!) Are going sea kayaking later this afternoon so we had lunch at the villa and then went into town around 3 pm, explored a bit and had icecream before the others went sea kayaking to explore the grottos.

Brian and I are not into kayaking anymore, so we wandered around town and found our option for dinner. We wanted a restaurant on the beach, not a common thing around here, but we did find something near the marina that fit the bill.

Dinner was excellent: fried sardines, a tomato salad and olives for starters. We ordered grilled SeaBass for 4, which involved picking out our own fish. The Seabass was accompanied by boiled potatoes in garlic and olive oil and a beautiful green salad. Simple, excellent food. Dessert was chocolate mousse with sea salt, almond slivers, and pink peppercorns. Decadent. Alan (17) also had sardine pasta. He is enjoying sampling the different seafood here.

A walk on the beach boardwalk followed dinner. Alan made watermelon shlushies back at the villa to finish off a perfect day.

Some photos.

Off for sea kayaking.
