Day 40: St. Barbe to Greenpoint  Gros Morne NP

Today starts the trek back to Port aux Basques for the ferry tomorrow night. I took good advantage of the services in this RV park last night and this morning.

Last night, I did laundry and won’t have to do it again until I get to one of our daughter’s homes next week. This morning,  I did some breakfast baking. We have 3 days of ‘get to it’ travel,i.e.,  up and out in the morning. I made a small batch of cheese corn bread muffins and 3 days’  worth of egg bites. While it wasn’t sunny, it wasn’t raining either and reasonably warm so I could put the toaster oven on a table outside… gives me more room in our tiny kitchen when I can do that.

The rain held off just long enough to get that done. Brian spent a good half hour cleaning the bugs off the front of the van. It does look better now.

It poured rain for a good part of the way south. When it wasn’t raining, it was dense fog. Our campsite tonight is relatively close to Cow Head where the theater is. We timed the morning perfectly. We got into Cow Head in time to have lunch in the hotel here and purchase tickets for a performance tonight. We might as well take advantage of the return trip through here. We are expecting to hear some good Newfoundland folk music 🎶 🎵

We settled into camp for a few hours, napping and reading followed by a nice long walk along the Coastal trail. I just have a few photos. What was surprising was the number of toads on the trail. We must have seen a dozen of them.

Leaving soon for the theater. It’s a good half hour drive from here.

A perfect way to spend our last evening in Newfoundland
