We are fortunate enough to have access to an apartment in NYC. We use it whenever I have meetings at the United Nations for one of the organizations I am involved with, for music and dance, and for a general get away when we feel the need.
The apartment uilding was closed down during the worst periods of Covid-19 and when we did get back into the city, we confined ourselves to our own area of the city near Lincoln Center where we could spend the time walking along the Hudson River or Central Park and cooking all of our meals.
This year we have been able to have family visit and get back to theater and other parts of the city we haven’t ventured to for a couple of years particularly our favorite areas of Brooklyn and the lower west side that were still in redevelopment before Covid-19 hit.
Last week we spent a day exploring DUMBO, walked across the Brooklyn Bridge, walked the Highline from one end to the other and spent a day at our very favorite activity, the US Open Tennis, for the first time in 4 years.
My next two blog posts will feature photos of our trip to Brooklyn and a day on the Highline.
