Day 13: on the road to home part II

Starting packing the inside of the van for the last travel day and arrival home. This involves folding up our small chairs and putting them away, rolling up the back door panels, pulling the sheets out of the ‘bedding system’ and gathering up all the laundry along with general packing up to make it easier to unload at home after a long days drive.

We have a very long standing rule in our house dating back to the beginning of time from early camping days with kids: clean up the car (we always gave the kids a 20 minute warning), unpack the vehicle and get everything inside, put any food away, unpack suitcases and equipment and put it all away, get the first load of laundry into the washing machine… all before anything else gets done… and it doesn’t matter what time of day it is. It’s a system that has worked for us through camping, our cottage and all other travel. And today will be no exception

… and then there is the usual activity of doing dishes, sweeping what little floor there is, shaking the mats, emptying the tanks etc. So far we haven’t had to re-winterize but will need to tonight when we get home… after we unpack and put away.

280 miles… 6 hours or so with stops..

Thanks for traveling along with us once again. I am constantly amazed at what we learn especially when we aren’t looking for it. Hope you have too.
