Day 1: Home to Natural Bridge, VA

This was a travel day so not a lot to report yet. We had about a 335 mile drive to get us far enough south in Virginia and a campground that was still open at this time of the year. We ended up in the Natural Bridge KOA near Natural Bridge State Park. We have visited Natural Bridge before so we will not do it this time. We have another long day tomorrow.

It turned cold at home before we left requiring us to winterize the van before we left. It will be a day or so before we can chance having warmer weather.

It’s amazing how many campers are in this park. Lots of people going south it seems. Does Thanksgiving next week play a role in this?

We don’t have running water yet. Washing dishes is a problem so, both of us finally succumbing to COVID-19 a month ago, we can check out the local eateries, something we haven’t done a lot of in the last 2 1/2 years. The Pink Cadillac Diner just outside the campground looks intriguing.. something about an Elvis Burger being the specialty… stay tuned.

How 50s is this!!

Also not used to it getting dark so early while we are camping. In fact, I think this is the first time we have to park in the dark.

I brought my knitting…
