Woke to a beautiful but much cooler morning. I was unable to log into a scheduled board meeting due to lack of network and adequate wifi. Trying to find somewhere to go with services for 2 1/2 hours was logistically possible. It always seems that networks disappear once inside state parks.
After a leisurely stroll through this beautiful campground on the St. Mary’s River and having abandoned my board meeting, we headed back into St. Mary’s to poke around.
St. Marys is a city in Camden County, Georgia, United States — located on the southern border of Camden County on the St. Marys River, with the Florida border just to the south across the river; Cumberland Island National Seashore to the northeast; Kingsland, Georgia to the west; Jacksonville, Florida 38 miles to the south and Savannah, Georgia 110 miles to the north. It is bordered by Kings Bay Naval Submarine Base, home port for several Ohio-class submarines. It was first explored in the mid 16th century as part of the settlement of Spanish Florida.

Pretty spot to catch up on email and this blog.
Lunch was outside in a bar. Not the best but there wasn’t much of a choice.
Back at the campsite I finished listening to a book club book, Life in a Jar: the Irena Sendler Project and did some knitting. I hadn’t done much reading during Covid and my goal is to finish the many books I had started and didn’t finish. So far I have finished up 5!
The gnats are out in full force! What a shame, since the weather is so nice, to be driven inside by bugs! We just finished up a very long nature trail walk, about 3-4 miles.
Tomorrow we have reserved the ferry for Cumberland Island National Seashore. We have to be up early.
