Cloudy and misty today and quite a bit cooler. Suspecting damp weather, we packed up all the outdoor gear last night as we move to a new location today.
Brian had an early morning zoom meeting and needed to go down to the ranger station to get wifi. We have no network service at all.
On the way out we stopped at the Suwannee Sill, the headwaters of the Suwannee River. We had been told it was a good place for birds and ‘gators but the weather didn’t cooperate. This is the first misty / rainy weather since we left home and we are not complaining.
The misty weather became rain by the time we reached St. Mary’s and there was a thunderstorm late afternoon.
Found a fabric store! The first one on this trip. I bought some lovely flannel for quilt backings and muslin I had been wanting. So the fabric drawer has started!
For those of you who followed our Yellowstone trip and the trail of quilt shops, I made a story quilt of the trip with the fabric I purchased and created half a star on the back in honor of the Lakota women quilters.

We had lunch at the Cedar Oak Cafe in the historic part of St. Mary’s. It was raining so we didn’t walk this area. We will come back tomorrow.
We have spent most of the afternoon reading and napping in the van. We haven’t even set up yet. It’s too wet. This is the beauty of our little Impulse.
It rained into early evening and we just stayed in the van. Network is almost nonexistent and we have watched all the movies we downloaded into laptops. We are close enough to St. Mary’s for TV reception. We do have an antenna so we were able to watch some news and found channels running TV shows from the 70s.
