Day 33 | Port Huron, MI to Komoka, ON

This is the last official day of our trip west. Once we cross over into Canada πŸ‡¨πŸ‡¦ the next week is family time.

It is wet and foggy this morning, the only time we have set up and dismantled in rain. The campsite was muddy yesterday and not wanting to mess up the van at this point, we didn’t take anything outside including our storage box or hook up to anything. Muddy hoses and electrical cords are hard to deal with at the best of times.

We finished up a lot of food items last night and this morning. The van is clean and tidy on the inside and all the tanks are empty. We won’t be using it for the next few days as living quarters. Rather muddy on the outside but a good car wash will look after that.

So, armed with paper work, across the border we go (I hope). Our quick entry cards don’t work any more! How times have changed. It will be interesting to see if there is a lineup now that Canada allows entry to US citizens. We did this earlier this year in July when only Canadian citizens were allowed entry. We were the only vehicle in the border plazas both going and coming back! Very strange feeling.

Interestingly we are back to I94 again to the bridge. We first picked up I94 where it started near Billings, MT so we have done both ends of it.

Port Huron | Sarnia bridge.. look at the trucks going into the U.S. now look at what is in front of us.

Looks like commerce from Canada into the U.S. is alive and well. There were a few trucks going into Canada from the U.S.

Paper work all in good order and we are now in Canada just in time to celebrate another birthday πŸŽ‚. With family this time.

This the last day for my blog. Come back to read my observations about traveling through covid-19. https://weegtravel.blog/2021-travelling-through-covid-19-observations/

Next weekend we travel back to our home in Pennsylvania after working our way across Ontario and into Quebec (Montreal).
