A beautiful start to a hot cloudless day. Another day of straight driving. We crossed the Mississippi at Davenport into Iowa. Iowa is a beautiful farm state… sift rolling hills of corn, soybeans and wind towers. This state has committed itself to renewable energy resources. The wins towers blend with the landscape, lacy rotating turbines against the blue sky.
We were met in DesMoines by a very dear friend and fellow activist. She took us on a driving tour of this beautiful Midwest city before entertaining us in her home and providing a wonderful meal. We stayed in a hotel nearby to make transportation easier.
